Cheshire Oak Bowmen
Open Shoot - 08 Sep 2019
The Cheshire Oak Bowmen late summer 2019 shoot was held on the 8th September 2019. A total of 93 archers made the trip to our Cheshire woodland enjoying a twice 20 target course comprising a mix of 3D targets and faces. The shoot was billed as a pre-National Championship shoot and as I write this upon return from the Nationals there were some similarities!
The course included three shots in the field adjacent to the wood,
its as though we knew what the National Champs courses would be
like. Some targets also ensured that everyone managed a spot on
this target.
General feedback from the shoot were generally positive and most completed the challenging course. Yet some shots left archers scratching their heads about the distance.
As usual at Cheshire oak the course was a shoot through and arranged to pass catering twice during the day and many archers enjoyed the fare on offer and the catering team ensured a variety was available all day.
Thanks to all who attended and we look forward to welcoming our
returning friends and some new visitors at our all styles wooden
arrow remembrance shoot on the 10th November 2019 which will be a
2x18 course. The shoot will start at 9:30 to ensure we have enough
light to finish the shoot in daylight. The shoot will also feature
2 minutes silence at 11:00 to remember those affected by conflicts
past and present and a contribution will be made to the Royal
British Legion and we hope to exceed our £286 contribution from
last year.
