Cheshire Oak Bowmen
Open Shoot - 05 May 2019
The Cheshire Oak Bowmen spring 2019 shoot was held on the 5th May 2019. A total of 93 archers made the trip to our Cheshire woodland enjoying a twice 20 target course with 18 shots in the main woodland with two targets in the adjoining field, including the rather challenging Bison. The spring conditions albeit somewhat cool led to an enjoyable shoot with the wild garlic and bluebells providing an uplifting backdrop.
The bison shot had three possible chances to score a kill, but also one real chance to hit the target but not score. These archers were obviously not sure, time to take another.
The general feedback was that the course was challenging with the course following a different flow than at previous shoots, providing some rather different shoot possibilities.
The course layers, mindful of the 3D championships at the end of
May provided a number of opportunities for archers to get some
practice on some challenging 3D targets.
The course was arranged to pass catering twice during the day and
many archers enjoyed the fare on offer and the catering team
ensured a variety was available all day.
Thanks to all who attended and look forward to welcoming our
returning friends and some new visitors at the next shoot on the
8th September 2019 which will again be a 2x20 course with mixed
face and 3D targets.
